The SCHULZE Blue Press DTG 40cm x 60cm Manual Self-Opening Heat Press is a professional transfer press developed specifically for Direct-to-Garment (DTG) printing and pretreatment curing. Featuring a generous 40 x 60 cm pressing area, perforated lower platen, automatic opening, and electronic time and temperature controls, the Blue Press DTG is designed to improve moisture management and provide faster, more consistent curing of DTG-printed garments.

The key feature of the Blue Press DTG is its perforated lower platen. During pressing, excess moisture from DTG pretreatment can move downward through the perforations instead of becoming trapped between the garment and heating platen. This helps promote more even moisture removal and can significantly reduce the time required to cure pretreatment and DTG prints.

SCHULZE reports that this specialized airflow design can reduce curing times by up to 50% compared with conventional pressing methods, helping increase production speed while minimizing unnecessary heat exposure to the textile.

The press is manually closed using its ergonomic handle and automatically opens when the programmed pressing time is complete. This self-opening operation helps reduce the chance of over-curing while allowing the operator to prepare the next garment or complete other production tasks during the pressing cycle.

Electronic controls provide straightforward adjustment of time and temperature for repeatable production. With a maximum temperature of 220°C and up to approximately 500 kg of pressing force, the Blue Press DTG provides the heat and pressure required for professional DTG curing and a variety of compatible heat transfer applications.

The 40 x 60 cm lower platen provides ample room for T-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts, and other garments. SCHULZE also recommends the press for compatible sublimation products such as floor mats, where the naturally insulating rubber layer can help support even heat transfer.

Unlike SCHULZE presses equipped with the Quick Release system, the heating and lower platens on the Blue Press DTG are fixed and not interchangeable. This dedicated construction keeps the machine focused specifically on DTG and large-format textile curing workflows.

An optional drip tray can be installed beneath the perforated platen to collect excess pretreatment liquid, helping keep the workstation cleaner during repeated DTG production.

Why a Perforated Platen for DTG?

DTG garments are commonly treated with a liquid pretreatment before printing. During heat pressing, that moisture needs to escape from the textile. On a conventional solid lower platen, moisture can remain trapped within the garment or between the garment and pressing surfaces.

The Blue Press DTG's perforated platen provides a path for that moisture to move downward and away from the garment. This helps the pretreatment and ink cure more evenly while reducing unnecessary pressing time and moisture buildup.
