I bought this machine two years ago off this site for my art business. Using a heat press is only about 20% of my business as I mostly sell stickers, keychains, and buttons. This means that I did not get to use the press as much as I could have in the one year warranty period.
A few months ago I went to close the machine and it felt weird and it was closing without much pressure. I noticed that the machine would close to the left side, rather than straight down. I contacted my friend who frequently uses her heat press and she showed me where she felt the machine was broken. I moved it and a bolt fell out of the inside of the machine. Keep in mind this bolt fell off from just opening and closing the machine, not user error. Examining the machine and doing research revealed that I would have to take the entire thing apart just to put that bolt in, without guarantees that it will work. Right now this machine is practically useless as the bolt is necessary to apply pressure, so my sublimated items are coming out blurry. I contacted customer service and they told me that it was out of the warranty period. So now I have a nearly $500 machine that weighs over 90 pounds sitting in my office and Siser's suggestion is that I take the thing apart and try to fix it myself. I'm sorry, but for that much money I would expect a higher quality product with a better warranty, and phenomenal customer service.
Please don't buy from this company, they don't stand behind their products and they're hoping that it'll last exactly a year so they can hide behind their warranty and tell you to GFY. My next heat press will be bought from a reputable company with more than extensive research on my part and at least a two year warranty. Siser should be ashamed of themselves for selling such an expensive and poor quality product. I've attached pictures and a video of the broken areas and parts.
